Day 1 Fly today to Ontario International Airport, where you’ll be met by your tour director and transferred to the Palm Mountain Resort & Spa, for a five-night stay in the heart of downtown Palm Springs. You’ll be pleased to see that your hotel is ideally located within easy walking distance of a wide variety of shopping, dining and entertainment. A “welcome” dinner at Johnny Costa Ristorante will begin your tour with a bang.
Day 2 All breakfasts this week are included at popular Ruby’s Diner, adjacent to our hotel. A day of great sightseeing begins with a fascinating guided tour of exclusive Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley, including the homes of the stars, fabulous desert resort hotels, some of the area’s more than 100 golf courses, and handsome date-palm-lined boulevards. Wanna dine like a celebrity? We will have lunch at a star’s home like Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley’s Honeymoon Home or where Diamonds Are Forever was filmed. Then an afternoon visit to the amazing Palm Springs Air Museum which houses one of the nation's largest collection of World War II flying aircraft displayed in modern, well lighted, air-conditioned and clean hangars. Dinner is on your own this evening.
Day 3 This morning our adventure begins the moment you board your big red jeep and depart on an exciting jeep eco-tour of the San Andreas Fault. On your journey, you will learn about the desert’s plants, animals, history, geology, and earthquakes. Voyage through a natural palm oasis, spectacular box and slot canyons, plus so much more. The afternoon is free for you to enjoy. You may want to partake in a spa treatment, go golfing, or see the spectacular Palm Springs Follies. Then a memorable evening features a trip to the summit of 8,516-foot Mt. San Jacinto, complete with panoramic views of the Coachella Valley from the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. A delicious dinner is included at Peaks Restaurant before we return to the valley floor below.
Day 4 First is breakfast at Ruby’s Diner, then another exceptional day of exploration begins with a scenic drive through Cleveland National Forest, complete with magnificent views overlooking Southern California and the Pacific Ocean. The historic Mission San Antonio de Pala, built in 1816, is the only surviving Asistencia in the mission system and the only mission-related structure still ministering to an Indian population. The Asistencia was named in honor of Saint Anthony of Padua, nicknamed the "Wonderworker of the world.” Our lunch and afternoon tour will be at the award winning Leonesse Cellar Winery. It is the true embodiment of quality, warmth, fun and great wine tasting! You’ll have a free evening for dining on your own in downtown Palm Springs.
Day 5 After breakfast, the outstanding, 1,200-acre Living Desert Zoo and Botanical Garden in Palm Desert reveals a wide variety of rare plants and more than140 animal species from 12 desert ecosystems around the world. Here we will take a guided tram tour along with the Wonderful Wildlife show and a box lunch. Enjoy the afternoon on your own and treat yourself to some real relaxation. For all of you art lovers, the Palm Spring Art Museum, just steps away from your hotel, has marvelous collections and, as a bonus, free admission on Thursdays. After our “farewell” dinner at Las Casuelas Terraza this evening, you’re sure to enjoy visiting Palm Springs’ weekly “Villagefest” street fair along Palm Canyon Drive.
