Daily Itinerary:
Day 1 Check-in for two-night stay at the fabulous Peppermill Resort Spa Casino in exciting Reno; “Welcome” reception and dinner at our hotel; Free evening for casino gaming or relaxation. (B,D)
Day 2 Guided morning sightseeing tour of Reno, the “Biggest Little City in the World,” including a visit to the renowned Harrah Collection at the National Automobile Museum, where more than 200 antique and classic automobiles are displayed; Afternoon visit to the picturesque mining town of Virginia City, site of the rich Comstock Lodge…with some 30,000 residents, this was the West’s mining boomtown of the 1870s, and today retains much of it’s colorful history and “Wild West” atmosphere Dinner in Virginia City before returning to Reno for the night. Day 3 Visit to Bodie State Historic Park, site of the notorious gold-mining camp of Bodie, one of the largest and most fascinating ghost towns in the West, with over 170 remaining buildings; Sightseeing at scenic Mono Lake Tufa State Reserve, where highly unusual spires and towers of calcium-carbonate tufa rock line the shoreline of sky-blue Mono Lake; Check-in for a three-night stay at the Shilo Inn Suites; Dinner surrounded by the beautiful setting of the Convict Lake Restaurant. Day 4 Full-day trip across the Tioga Pass Road and awe-inspiring Yosemite National Park, now decorated by glorious autumn foliage, to Yosemite Valley; Free time for exploring and a guided tram tour of magnificent Yosemite Valley, a virtual outdoor cathedral of natural splendor; Dinner at Nicely’s Restaurant in Lee Vining before returning to Mammoth Lakes. Day 5 Guided sightseeing and fall color tour of the beautiful Mammoth Lakes resort region, including a breathtaking gondola ride to the summit of 11,053-foot Mammoth Mountain, Devil’s Postpile National Monument, Rainbow Falls, the Ansel Adams Wilderness Area, Mammoth Lakes Basin, Twin Lakes and the Hot Creek Geologic Site; Delightful hayride and barbecue cookout dinner at Red’s Meadow Resort and Pack Station, situated in the Splendid Red’s Meadow Valley. Day 6 Afternoon sightseeing cruise on storied Lake Tahoe, surrounded by snow-capped peaks and recognized as one of the most beautiful lakes in the world; Check-in for an overnight stay and dinner at the excellent Montbleu Resort Casino & Spa. (CB,D)
Day 7 Morning visit to the Nevada State Museum in Carson City, located in the former U.S. Mint Building; Afternoon homeward-bound flight (B)
