Day 1 Check-in for four-nights at the Holiday Inn El Tropicano Riverwalk Hotel; “Welcome” reception and orientation at hotel; Dinner at the Casa Rio Mexican Restaurant on the Riverwalk; Evening boat cruise on the San Antonio River through the downtown area. (D)
Day 2 Full-day of guided sightseeing in historic San Antonio, including renowned sights, historic buildings, and colorful marketplaces; Visits to the famed Alamo, shrine of the Texas Republic, as well as the San Antonio Imax Theatre to view “Alamo…The Price of Freedom”; Visits to Mission San José, La Villita, and the Buckhorn Saloon & Museum; Dinner at Landry’s Seafood Restaurant (B,D)
Day 3 Guided half-day city tour of Austin; Sightseeing at the Texas State Capitol, the University of Texas at Austin, and the Lyndon B. Johnson Presidential Library and Museum; Visit to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center; Dinner at the County Line Barbecue. (B,D)
Day 4 Guided morning tour of the famed Y.O. Ranch, the expansive private reserve and working ranch which houses one of the most incredible collection of exotic wild animals in North America, lunch is included here in the cook house; Free time for browsing on your own in the picturesque German community of Fredericksburg, plus a visit to the outstanding National Museum of the Pacific War in this, the home town of Fleet Admiral Chester W.
